Ludmilla Leibman is a pianist, music theorist, and lecturer who taught for thirteen years in the theory/composition department of her alma mater, the Leningrad (now Saint Petersburg) Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatory. After immigrating to America in 1991, Leibman received her Doctor of Musical Arts degree from Boston University and began teaching music theory on the faculty of the BU School of Music. In 1997 Leibman established "The Educational Bridge Project" (EBP), which organizes annual educational and artistic exchanges between the United States and Russia. The EBP has since been incorporated as an independent not-for-profit organization.

Dr. Leibman lectures and publishes in America and internationally on topics ranging from methods and approaches of American and Russian educational systems to the power of spiritual resistance during the Holocaust. She has been working with Russian colleagues to develop courses which integrate classroom and online teaching methods from both countries. For her achievements as an educator and for her efforts to strengthen cultural ties between nations, she has received numerous awards, including the Arts Collaboration Award, the Russian Journalists’ Award, the Medal of Exemplary Service from the Russian Government, and citations from both the State Senate and the Governor of Massachusetts.

Генеральный директор Проекта «Образовательный Мост» д-р искусствоведения Людмила Лейбман получила музыкальное образование и опыт преподавания музыкально-теоретических дисциплин в ведущих ВУЗах двух стран, СССР и США - Ленинградской Ордена Ленина Государственной Консерватории им. Римского-Корсакова и Бостонском университете. В 1997 г. Л. Лейбман основала в университете Проект «Образовательный Мост» (в 2007 проект приобрел статус самостоятельной некоммерческой организации), в рамках которого проводятся ежегодные российско-американские фестивали: весной в Санкт-Петербурге и Москве, осенью - в Бостоне.  Предложенная Л. Лейбман идея объединить людей разных профессий - музыкантов, художников, искусствоведов, журналистов, учителей, библиотекарей - для того, чтобы в совместных репетициях, концертах, мастер-классах, дискуссиях и открытых уроках родилось взаимопонимание, интерес и уважение к друг другу, доказала свою жизнеспособность. В 2011 г. на XIX и XX фестивалях многие участники встретятся вновь, выйдут вместе на сцену, заполнят лекционные аудитории и окунутся в атмосферу праздника.
